Culmore UMC Church commits to providing various services to local communities, and members of the congregation participate in different outreach programs around the area. Culmore Church's dedication to serving the communities has allowed the church and the Culmore community to empower and build relationships with groups across different backgrounds. Programs & Services
Grace Ministries
Culmore hosts Grace Ministries' Food, Clothing, and Diaper Distribution Drive. This distribution drive is held the first Friday of every month from 5:00pm-7:00pm. In conjunction with the faculty of nursing at George Mason University, Culmore Church hosts a weekly free medical clinic every Thursday morning which provides vital medical services to uninsured and underinsured members of the Bailey's Crossroads community. |
Moving Food Pantry
In conjunction with the Capital Area Food Bank of Greater Washington, Culmore church distributes fresh vegetables and fruit to neighborhood families. Food is distributed on the second Friday morning of each month on the church lawn. All are welcome. Volunteers are always needed. On average, Culmore and the CAFB distribute 7,000 pounds of fresh produce per month to over 200 neighborhood families. English Empowerment Center ESL courses
In conjunction with the English Empowerment Center, Culmore Church hosts affordable weekly English as a second language training for members of the Bailey's crossroads community wishing to learn English or to improve their English language skills. |
